What is the Importance of a Logo?

What is a logo?

A symbol used for promoting recognition in public and to increase identification among the people, is a logo. A logo for an educational institution may have the name of the school, too. It could be an abstract design or a figurative one. It is used to communicate the mission and vision of the institution and the culture of the society.

One of the most important characteristics of a logo is that it should be simple. It should be simple so that it is remembered. A complicated and colorful design may not be etched in the mind. Once seen, the logo should immediately connect the name of the institution.

What is the relation between the logo and the mission of the school?

The design of the logo should communicate the mission of the school. Secular nature of the school, gender equality, importance to academics, etc. maybe reflected in the logo.

What is the most important feature when designing a logo?

An important feature of a good logo is that it should have permanence. It should be good for always and should be acceptable for ever. The most important feature to be remembered when designing a logo is that it would be duplicated on different materials like on walls, on metal, on paper, and on cloth. So the design should be easily replicated.

If a logo is designed with these features in mind, then the logo could be used as an advertisement tool, too.

Requirement to Open a CBSE School in India

Opening a CBSE school in India is a challenge that baffles many people. The requirements are many and time always falls short. This is because of the many steps required like drafting, checking, a draft of the printed matter, again checking the draft of the printed matter and finally the approval! This is not only painstaking but also time-consuming. To make it easy for a promoter of a new school, given below is the list of the requirements for a new school.
  1. Form a Trust/Society/Section 8 Company- This process may take up to 3 months
  2. Procurement of Land-Buy/Lease- land size varies from 1 acre to 2 acres
  3. Land use- Educational and should be Approved by competent authority
  4. Building Plan and its Approval from competent authority- Boards specify the sizes of
  5. Classrooms, Library,
  6. Laboratories, etc.
  7. Construction- as per NBA guidelines and
  8. Staff- Principal, teaching staff, admin staff with qualifications and experience as per Board norms.
  9. EPF and ESIC registration and codes
  10. State Board affiliation
  11. For CBSE, CISCE, IB affiliation NOC from State Government
Arranging for all the above and completion of the first phase of construction may take about 2 years. Once the above is done and the first phase of construction is completed the other requirements are as follows:
  1. Activities For Admission
  2. Office Stationery
  3. Advertisement
  4. Uniform
  5. Classroom Requirement
  6. Purchases
  7. Affiliation
  8. Rooms Requirements
  9. School Policy
  10. Transport
  11. Construction
  12. Toys For Pre-Primary
  13. Games & Sports
  14. Mess – Day-Boarding & Boarding
The above requires a deep study of the Bye-Laws of the Board, the study of the NBC statutes, a study of what the other schools in the neighborhood are offering, a feasibility study, the financial implications, contact and liaison with Educare India Advisory. All this may deter a common man and his noble wish to provide for a standard education to society will be defeated.

Importance of Good Handwriting

The world is moving towards complete digitalization and very soon, in most countries, handwriting as a skill will no longer be needed. But in India, handwriting matters because even with technology entering classrooms, our examinations-from nursery to post-graduation- are largely handwritten. In such a scenario, the students need to develop good handwriting because even if they write correctly, messy and illegible writing can bring down the scores.

According to experts, “good handwriting aids in brain development, builds confidence, engages brain circuits and finally leads to better grades.” At the lowest level, our main concerns are fine motor skills. The child is allowed to write on the sand, scribble on paper and paint within lines. The students are taught the correct way to hold a pencil and with the right amount of pressure. And as a result, teachers can plant the seeds of good handwriting in early stages, say during Preschool. Their eye-hand coordination must be developed to be able to control the movement properly. For these various exercises are taught like threading, beading, putting pegs in the right holes, etc. Choosing the correct kind of pencil is also important. “It is important to teach children formation, sizing, the spacing between words and line-alignment so that they are able to write legibly.”

With the introduction of pens, a few students find it difficult to write neatly. SchoolConsultants of India provides the training sessions for the teacher, where they learn to devote time to first teach them how to hold the pen, the angle and the grip after which it becomes a smooth-sailing. Especially in present times where a combination of cursive and print form is accepted. Most schools are doing away with the cursive patterns as were prevalent a decade ago in favor of a mixed pattern but which is neat and legible.

Writing, like reading, is not only therapeutic but as an art slowly disappearing. Now, everything is summarised, short and speed are of the essence. In doing this, the beauty of expression, language, and finer nuances are sometimes lost. ‘Texting language’ has gained prominence and in some international boards, it is even allowed! Today, if a student is asked to write beyond 100 words, he begins to flounder. Everything needs to be encapsulated! Naturally, good handwriting takes a back-seat.

Handwriting experts are made use of in many spheres, notable among them being criminology and forensic science. Graphology is the science that helps an individual to relate his/her personality, behavior, and intelligence and communication style. One can take up a career as a handwriting analyst with good handwriting practice.

In conclusion, we can say that however fast technology overtakes our traditional methods; writing is a great way to develop our brain and improve our cognitive skills. Neat and well-defined handwriting is a reflection of the person’s nature and is a tool to impress others. Educare India Advisory has the expertise to set up the value enabled progressive institutions in the educational arena with the right guidance and the suggestions.
